LIGHTHOUSE

  • The VICTORY is already won before we play the game.
  • One Man at a Time.
  • Be BOLD -  “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” Mathew 5:16
  • What do those who are around you REALLY see in you?
  • Do you live your life so that others glorify God when they see how you live and what you do?

"THE MAKING OF A WARRIOR"

John 14:5-7 (NIV) Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

  • The Warrior & The Kingdom
  • Commitment – Lordship
  • The Way – “Walk the Talk”
  • The Truth – “Be Transformed”
  • The Life – “LOVE/JOY/PEACE”
  • The Challenge
  • Do you know God?
  • Are you being trained?
  • Do you have life?

Ken Luther shares a powerful testimony of the work of the Lord in and through his life.

He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. (Prov 28:13)

  • "Your only as sick as your secrets"
  • Is there anything in your life and heart that you are concealing from family? from friends? from God?
  • Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. (James 5:16)
  • And I am sure that God who began a good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in His grace until His task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9)

  • God’s desire for you is for you to be reconciled to Him.
  • Will you do that today?

Skip Phillips provides a great testimony of what God is doing in his life.
WHO IS CALLING? WILL YOU BE READY TO ANSWER?

Temptation – 1 Corinthians 10:12-14 (NIV)12)

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

  • What is your story?
  • How do you measure your hours, days, years?
  • Do you work for the world or work for the Lord?

GALATIANS 6:9 (NIV)9)
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Chad Wood - Director of Flint River FCA shares his testimony of how Jesus Christ has radically changed his life.

1 Corinthians 2:2 (ESV) For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

  • Am I seeing everything through the lens of the Gospel, and as a response the knowing Jesus Christ intimately?

Acts 20:24 (ESV) But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

  • What is Christ sanctifying me of right now and am I consistently walking in repentance ?

1 Corinthians 15:31 (ESV) I protest, brothers, by my pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die every day!

Accomplish the Mission

Mark 2:4 - And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

Who was it in your life to that took you to Jesus when you had no other way ?

James 2:26 - For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

  • Are you part of a “roof committee”?
  • Is there a brother that has no other way to get to Jesus unless you take him?
  • Will you?

Theme: Duty and Responsibility

Eccl 12:12-14 (KJV)
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God, keep his commandment: for this is the whole duty of man.

Romans 13:8 (KJV)
Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Gen 4:9 (KJV)
And the Lord said unto Cain, where is Abel thy brother? And he said I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

  • Am I my Brother’s Keeper?
  • This is a question we do well to ask ourselves today.
  • Do we have the responsibility to watch out and care for one another?

Matt 25 - God's Word says we are to be good stewards of the talents God has given us to use for His purpose.

  • Do you KNOW God's purpose for your life?

  • ARE you doing what HE has commanded YOU?

B) - John 14:6 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

A) - Romans 12:6-8 - We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

God’s Word says I am equipped with gifts in order to fulfill the ministry God has given ME.

  • AM I on mission with God?
  • AM I using what HE gave ME?
  • AM I doing what HE has commanded ME?

B) - Colossians 4:17b “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”

1 Kings 2:1-2 - When the time drew near for David to die, he gave a charge to Solomon his son. 2 "I am about to go the way of all the earth," he said. "So be strong, show yourself a man, "

So be strong, show yourself a man”. What does that mean?

1 Kings 2:3 and observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in his ways, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and requirements, as written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go,

Observe + Walk + Keep = Prosper

Men's Community Prayer BreakfastSatan’s goal is to destroy us (1 Peter 5:8*) and unless we equip ourselves with the spiritual armor of God (Eph. 6:10-18) and know our enemy, we are sure to fail. Many men lose this war because they are not equipped. As IronMen, we have decided to fight back. “The Battle Is On” states our intention to unite and fight the enemy wherever he attacks. Ironmen are committed to being fitted to the mold that God created us to be for our wives, our children, our church and our community. With God’s help we will not fail!

Men's Christian Ministry - The Battle Is On - Middle Georgia

What, Why and How the IronMen Ministries Operates

IronMen Ministries (IMM) is dedicated to four areas of ministry to men.

1 To equip churches, pastors and laymen to develop, implement and sustain a dedicated ministry to men within their church in order to lead men to Jesus and equip them through consistent, ongoing discipleship to be spiritual leaders in their families, church and work community.   TheBattleIsOn.org will be equipped with podcasts, videos and other teaching material for all ministries to utilize.

2 To provide men and ministries with the necessary resources for today’s man to fight the spiritual battles of his life and WIN!  To connect men within the community to viable, growing and ongoing men’s ministries within our partner churches.  TheBattleIsOn.org will provide discussion forums, daily and weekly devotions and articles provided by IMM members.  The site will provide confidential “help lines” to provide email and contact information to connect men with the appropriate ministry or counselor for help.

3To organize, fund and sustain community events to reach men such as the Weekly Men’s Community Prayer Breakfast (Jan 15, 2010) and the IronMen Conference (March 12-13, 2010).  TheBattleIsOn.org will provide links and contact information for all partner churches and ministries.  It will also provide a community calendar that may be used by all members to promote men’s ministry activities within their church or ministry.

4To provide IronMen speakers and leaders (short or long term) to work directly with pastors, leaders, churches, ministries, retreats and conferences in order to teach, train and sustain men’s ministries.  TheBattleIsOn.org will provide ongoing webcasts to coincide with the ongoing studies taught through IMM on a weekly basis.  These online resources will be equipped with material outlines and discussion questions for small group study.  Available for all ministries.
