Ronnie Babbitt - 2008 IronMan of the Year

IronMen Ministries focuses it's efforts around the Halftime program. Halftime is an ongoing, weekly meeting just for men. A typical night consist of large group gathering for 20-25 minutes. This time is dedicated to annoucements, needs, prayer requests and discipleship lesson. Afterwards, men break up into Halftime groups of 8-12 men. This time is used for discussion either of the nights lesson or just something that was prevelent in the previous week in someone's life.
The curriculum changes throughout the year. 30-35 weeks annually, we are involved in some type of ongoing study running 4-12 weeks. This may be based on a particular book or course(We just finished a 10 week study based on the book "Finishing Strong" by Steve Farrar). The remaining time we use our weekly devotionals (Stand Firm and Man in the Mirror) as outlines for the small groups.
Halftime meetings are informal(come as you are, even if your muddy) and not "churchy". It is just men, hangin' out and trying to find a better way to live our lives. Halftime is a place where a man can figure out that everyone struggles and there are answers and there is help and hope. Men can be real….and honest… in Halftime groups—connecting in ways they cannot in church on Sunday, or in a bible-study group, or having breakfast with other men of the church on a Saturday morning.
